Molasses Reef
The popular dive spot for the south section is Molasses Reef. This area is home to large grouper and sharks, as well as tarpon, eels, tarpon, eagle Rays, and eagles. This dive site is protected by the Sanctuary Preservation Area. Fishing is strictly prohibited. Molasses Reef got its name from the fact that here was a wrecked ship, the SS Slobodna.
