The SDI Review Process

The SDI Review process yields one of four outcomes. These are: Approval (denial), remand, remand, recommendation for waiver, and remand. The review can be conducted either in-house, or by an outside consulting firm. It is intended to help businesses realize cost savings. SDI works with existing portfolios in order to reduce waste and perform mission-critical functions. SDI offers managed service programs and independent contractor programs in addition to project management, business process outsourcing, and project management. In order to provide the best services to clients, the company integrates its business operations.

sdi review results in approval, denial, remand for additional information, or recommendation for waiver

Once the SSDI review has been completed, the SSA decides whether it will approve, deny or remand to obtain additional information. It then sends a memorandum to the MDH Unit informing it whether the data-related arrangement is approved, denied, deferred, and remanded. If the agreement is approved by the MDH Unit, execution may be started.

If an applicant is denied, the SSA sends a second warning. After the date of denial, the applicant has sixty-five calendar days to request an administrative law judge (ALJ) hearing. This hearing is similar to those held on disability issues. The hearing can take place in person, over the telephone or via videoconference. The hearing will allow the applicant and his or her representative to bring witnesses to testify about issues and the context surrounding the denial. An ALJ can also arrange for expert testimony in support of the case. If the applicant loses, then the ALJ will write to the applicant stating the reasons. The hearing may take several weeks to complete.

A Data-Related Agreement is a legal document that requires approval from the SDI Team prior to execution. These agreements should be submitted through Cognito Formulas. The SDI Team will have 30 days to review the Data-Related Agreement. They can also ask for additional information, such a SOC 2 Type II or security controls.
