For those interested in pursuing advanced technical diving certifications, there are several options available. TDI has Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures. PADI has Tec Trimix & Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment usage, gas switching, and advanced emergency techniques, such as lift bag deployment. For more information, visit the TDI website.

TDI Intro To Tech Course

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It is also a great introduction for advanced courses from TDI, such as Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures. It can also be used as a refresher course for those who have taken technical courses. During the course, technical instructors at TDI can assess your skills.

For divers who have never dived with twin cylinders or a wing, the TDI Intro to Tech course will be helpful. It also covers advanced gas management and buoyancy control. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course can be taught at the beach or in cenotes with similar conditions as swimming pools. Advanced gas planning skills will also be learned. This course is designed to improve your open water diving skills and introduce you to the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. You will not be permitted to decompress the course but can still use enriched air nitrogenx mixes.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures

TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures Courses prepare divers to perform accelerated and staged compression. The course covers advanced gas planning, management and safety techniques. Students also learn how they manage their equipment and plan to handle any unexpected events. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.

This course can either be taken in its entirety or as part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses last four days and are performance-based. Students complete six dives and two dives below 30 meters. Students complete the course according to their experience and personal requirements. This course prepares students and allows them to dive into wrecks in Scapa Flow, the UK, and other technical areas.

PADI Tec Trimix course

PADI Tec Trimix90 is the final stage in the PADI Technical Diver circuit. This certification course opens the door to deeper dives and explore places few others have gone. This course is only suitable for highly experienced tec divers who want to extend their range and explore deeper environments. In order to be certified in trimix diving, you must have a valid diver license and have undergone a medical examination. You will need two 30cf-stage bottles and a facial mask to be certified in trimix diving.

PADI Tec Trimix 65 divers must have logged at most 350 dives. This includes at least 50 dives with a trimix of less than 21 per cent oxygen. Technical diving techniques and protocols are also covered in the course. It also offers multiple teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course in technical diving certification. The requirements for this course are higher than the PADI Tec Diver course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

PADI Deep Diver certification is for recreational divers. This certification allows for four dives. You will also be able to use technical dive equipment such as a EANx or side-mounted cylinder. Additionally, you will learn how to plan deep dives and manage your gas supply. It's possible to take your lessons online or offline, and the PADI Tec eLearning program allows you to do it at your own pace.

This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you must obtain a Tec 50 diver certification from an approved organization. The certification must include technical deep diving, pure oxygen diving, and decompression diving to 50 metres. The Tec Deep Instructor course can also be taught by the PADI Course director. Upon successful completion of the Tec Deep Instructor Course, the PADI course director will issue you a Tec Deep Diver certificate.
