PADI Instructor Certification Course (IDC).

The PADI Instructor Training Course (IDC), is designed to help instructors prepare for the PADI instructor exam. Candidates are assessed in the classroom, confined water, and during a rescue scenario. Each section consists of a variety of tests and practical exercises. The course emphasizes hands-on practice. Candidates must plan and execute their lessons themselves, as well learn from others. In addition, the course covers diving theory.

PADI Instructor Development course consists of 19 presentations. Each presentation covers a different topic. Course orientation

For your success at the IDC, the orientation phase is essential if you have ever been to one. PADI Staff Instructors are responsible for the evaluation of teaching presentations. Instructors are available to assist you with any difficulties you may have understanding a particular topic or learning process. The IDC staff instructor will assess all aspects of the curriculum and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.


You'll be able to learn all about the PADI System of Education and Practice during the Instructor Development Course. The Dive Industry Overview and General Standards and Procedures will be covered. Depending on the focus of the IDC, the orientation section of the PADI Instructor Development Course can take as long as three days.

Open Water Teaching Presentations

Open Water Teaching Presentations (OTP) are two of the requirements for the PADI Instructor Development Course. These presentations are crucial to the overall success of the IDC program. PADI IDC candidates need to be able master two skills in the same dive. These skills may be from different courses. The IDC requires candidates to practice these presentations in order for them to be able understand them. They must also be confident and know all of the skills they will learn during their PADI Divemaster course.

The PADI Instructor Development Course includes nine (9) required IDC Curriculum presentations. These presentations must be delivered by the PADI Course director or IDC staff and should relate to the PADI Open Water Divers, PADI Rescue Divers, or PADI Advanced Open Water Course. They should contain a Knowledge Development Teaching presentation along with two skills presentations from Rescue Diver Course. Prices

Cost of the PADI Instructor Development Course is dependent on where you are located. The course can taken in Australia or Asia. Prices are usually quoted in GBP andAUD. Payments are made to the PADI offices in Sydney, Australia. The price can be much higher in some areas than others, so make sure to factor in the cost of living in the location you'll be taking the course. There are two options. You can either take the course locally or you can do it remotely.

PADI IDC prices include application and exam fees. PADI IDC prices include all the materials needed to complete the program. PADI IDC prices vary, but most courses include both. An additional application fee is required. If you intend to do both, however, you'll be able to receive a discount off the course materials. If you want to save money on your IDC you can choose to enroll in a program which offers both the EFR Instructor and these courses. PADI IDC includes the EFR Instructor ranking as well as the PADI Specialties Instructor rating. Also, you can get a 10% discount for the MSDT Specialist Instructor rating and all PADI course material.
