Advanced technical diving certifications can be pursued by many people. TDI offers Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, and PADI offers Tec Trimix and Deep Diver courses. The TDI Advanced Nitrox course introduces advanced diving techniques for recreational Nitrox divers. This course covers equipment usage, gas switching and advanced emergency techniques such as lift bag deployment. Visit the TDI website for more information.

TDI Intro course in Tech

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also serve as a great introduction to TDI's advanced courses, such as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. It can also be used as a refresher course for those who have taken technical courses. During the course technical instructors from TDI will evaluate your skills.

The TDI Intro to Tech course for divers who have not used twin cylinders, a wing or a wing is designed for those who are new to diving. The course also covers advanced buoyancy control, gas management, and more. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course can either be taken in the open cenotes of the ocean or in areas that have similar swimming pool conditions. Advanced gas planning skills will also be learned. This course is designed for open water divers to improve their skills and introduce them to the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. You will not be permitted to decompress the course but can still use enriched air nitrogenx mixes.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures

TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures courses prepare divers for accelerated and staged decompression. This course teaches advanced gas planning and management skills to ensure safe diving. Students also learn how to manage their equipment and plan for contingencies. The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression procedures course includes four dives to a maximum depth 40m (130ft).

This course can be taken separately or as part a certification in Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures are performance-based courses that last for four days. Students must complete six dives, and two below 30m dives. Students complete the course according to their experience and personal requirements. This course prepares students to dive in advanced technical conditions, including wrecks in Scapa Flow or the UK.

PADI Tec Trimix course

The PADI Tec Trimix 90 course is the final stage of the PADI Technical Diver open circuit path. This certification course allows you to explore deeper waters and places where few others have been. This course is for experienced tec divers who wish to expand their diving range and explore deeper waters. Trimix certification requires a valid driver's license and a medical exam. You will need two 30cf stage bottles, a face mask and a pair of fins for this certification.

PADI Tec Trimix 65 requires that the diver have logged at minimum 350 dives. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. The course also includes multiple teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. The requirements are much more stringent than the PADI Tec Diver certification.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

PADI's Tec Deep Diver certification offers recreational divers more advanced training. This certification covers four dives and includes a practice of safety stops as well as descents. You will also learn to use technical diving equipment like a side-mounted cylinder, EANx and EANx. Additionally, you will learn how to plan deep dives and manage your gas supply. Online or offline lessons are possible with the PADI Tec eLearning system. You can also take your lessons at your own pace.

This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you must be certified by Tec 50 from an approved organization. The certification must include technical deep diving, pure oxygen diving, and decompression diving to 50 metres. The Tec Deep Instructor course is also offered by the PADI Course Directors. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
