You will need to take a scuba dive course if you plan on becoming a cavern divers. This course includes four scuba diver dives. Your instructor will teach you how to plan your dive as well as how to keep your orientation and control your air. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to dive in caves or other caves with safety rules.
Safety
The Rule of Threes applies to cave diving safety protocols. Cave divers should have at least three sources of light, and two tanks. They should also divide their gas into three separate sections to ensure that they have enough gas to survive the dive. If the dive team has experience in diving in caves, a more conservative gas management plan will be preferred. Cave divers should not only avoid cave hazards but also practice safe diving practices.
Equipment
Cave diving requires special equipment. You should have two safety reels. One should be used to run guideline, while the other should be used to maintain line tension while the diver is in the cave. For cavern diving, each diver must have a safety rod with enough line for the distance to the cave's entrance. The majority of manufacturers will fill the reels with guideline. This increases the likelihood of them jamming. To avoid a jam, you should cut off about 10 meters (30 ft) of line before use to reduce the risk of entanglement.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern diver course that is designed for scuba divers who wish to dive in areas where direct vertical access is not possible. This includes diving in caverns and underhangs. This course is not required to be able to dive in caverns, but it will teach you the skills necessary to make the most out of these environments. In this course, you will learn how to safely navigate the confined spaces that are often hidden from view.

Maximum depth
There are certain limitations to cavern diving. Cavern diving requires that you never dive at night and that you are aware of your limits. Cavern diving requires more training than other types. To be able to dive in caverns safely, you will need to know the basics and understand your limits. You should also have some cave diving experience before you try it. Once you have this experience, you can start your adventure into the world cavern dive!
