There are many options for advanced technical diving certifications. TDI offers Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, and PADI offers Tec Trimix and Deep Diver courses. Advanced Nitrox training is offered by TDI to recreational Nitrox divers. This course covers equipment usage, gas switching and advanced emergency techniques such as lift bag deployment. Visit the TDI web site for more information.
TDI Intro Tech course
The TDI Intro to Tech training course is a standalone course that will help you improve your recreational training as well as gain a deeper understanding of advanced technical skills. This course can be used as a foundation for TDI's advanced courses such as Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures. Or, it could be used as refresher material for people who have already completed technical courses. TDI technical instructors can evaluate your skills during the course.
The TDI Intro to Tech course is for divers who have never used twin cylinders or a wing. This course covers advanced buoyancy control as well as gas management. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course is taught in the sea or in open cenotes that offer conditions similar to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is designed for open water divers to improve their skills and introduce them to the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will also be covered. Although it is strictly a non-decompression course you will be permitted to use enriched oxygen nitrox mix during the course.

Course TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures Courses prepare divers to perform accelerated and staged compression. This course teaches advanced gas planning and management skills to ensure safe diving. Students also learn how they manage their equipment and plan to handle any unexpected events. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.
This course can be taken as a standalone course or as part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses can be taken as a performance-based course and last for 4 days. Six dives above 30 meters are required. The course is customized to each student's experience and their individual requirements. This course prepares students for advanced technical diving, including wrecks in Scapa Flow and the UK.
PADI Tec Trimix course
PADI Tec Trimix90 is the final stage in the PADI Technical Diver circuit. This certification course allows you to explore deeper waters and places where few others have been. This course is for experienced tec divers who wish to expand their diving range and explore deeper waters. Trimix certification requires a valid driver's license and a medical exam. You will need two 30cf stage bottles, a face mask and a pair of fins for this certification.
The Tec Trimix 65 diver must log at least 350 dives and at least 50 decompression dives using less than 21 percent oxygen for the PADI Tec Trimix course. The course also includes technical diving techniques. This course includes many teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. However, it is worth noting that the requirements are more demanding than the standard PADI Tec Diver course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
PADI's Tec Deep Diver certification offers recreational divers more advanced training. This certification covers four dives, including a practice of safety stops and descents. You will also practice the use of technical diving equipment, such as a side-mounted cylinder and EANx. Learn how to plan deep diving and manage your gas supplies. It's possible to take your lessons online or offline, and the PADI Tec eLearning program allows you to do it at your own pace.
This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you must be certified by Tec 50 from an approved organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical deep diving, decompression dives to 50 metres, and pure oxygen diving. The Tec Deep Instructor course can also be taught by the PADI Course director. Tec Deep Diver certification will be issued to you by the PADI Course Director after completion of the Tec Deep Instructor training.
